Appreciate Pilates, its goals, benefits, and complexities |

Understand functional movement patterns and recruitment |
• |
Know the muscles of the body, their functions, and the biomechanics of the core including the spine and pelvis |
• |
Communicate with clients effectively using verbal cues and imagery |
• |
Develop a repertoire of exercises that will assist the client and enhance the ability of their bodies to operate efficiently |
• |
Analyze the classical conception of Pilates and translate that into the appropriate conception for each client: modify for body types and abilities or vary exercises to increase or decrease intensity |
• |
Analyze postural tendencies and help the client increase their body awareness |
